Evelyn Fretz-Bohanon

Evelyn Eva (Godfrey) Fretz-Bohanon, 90 year-old, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident passed from this life on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Elmwood Manor Care Center in Wewoka, Oklahoma.  She was born May 28, 1922 in Boonville, Arkansas to parents Anna Ola (Weaver) Godfrey and Clarence James Godfrey. Evelyn attended Seminole Schools and went on to further her education at Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma.  She worked as a beautician and was a loving caretaker to many.  Evelyn was also a member of the Seminole First Baptist Church where she was involved with the nursery ministry and she also taught children's Sunday School class. Survivors include one son, Paul Leon Fretz and his wife Irma of El Paso, Texas; one daughter, Janice Kay Dunagan and her husband Ralph of Seminole, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Ronnie Dale “Ron” Dunagan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sherri Dawn Dunagan of Seminole, Oklahoma and Steve Dawne Dunagan of Seminole, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, with twins on the way; and a host of other family and dear friends. Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Anna Ola Godfrey and Clarence James Godfrey; her first husband, Jewel Kenneth Fretz; her second husband, George Robert “Bo” Bohanon; one son, Richard Kenneth Fretz; one brother, Bob Godfrey; and by one sister, Aileen Hair. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, Oklahoma with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating the service. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
