Evelyn Cleveland, 74-year-old lifelong Seminole resident passed from this life Thursday, October 9, 2008 in Moore, Oklahoma. She was born December 31, 1933 in Carroll County, Arkansas to parents Luther Ward Furguson and Gracie Jewel (Guess) Furguson.rnrnEvelyn married Claude Alvin Cleveland on December 17, 1951 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in January of 1974.rnrnEvelyn was a homemaker and had worked in food service at several area restaurants including ?Bev?s Beef and Rye?, ?Dairy Cup?, ?Our Daily Bread? and ?Leatha Steak House?. She was also a member of the Seminole First Free Will Baptist Church.rnrnSurvivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and ?Gin? Cleveland of Fayetteville, Arkansas; six daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Thompson of Seminole, Oklahoma, Jan Jernigan of Moore, Oklahoma, Claudine Bellows of Moore, Oklahoma, Debbie Lupton of Moore, Oklahoma, Judy and her husband Harvey Hester of Seminole, Oklahoma and Teresa Cleveland of Moore, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Chester and his wife Ollie Furguson of Eufaula, Oklahoma and Hubert and his wife Ada Mae Furguson of Seminole, Oklahoma; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal and her husband Alvin Bellows of Denton, Texas and Barbara Jean and her husband Jimmy Grant of Cromwell, Oklahoma; 31 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.rnrnEvelyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Claude Cleveland and by one sister, Dixie Cooper.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2008 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma. Rev. Kevin Daniels and Rev. Allen Wood will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery north of Seminole.rnrnCasket Bearers will be her grandsons: Shawn Cleveland, Jason Bellows, Brian Bellows, Tyler Bellows, Shane Hester, Luke Hester, Zackery Lupton and Josh Jernigan.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home ?
