Evans Junior Wise

Evans Chambers Wise, Jr., 40 year-old Meeker resident passed from this life on March 19th, 2011.  He was born to Evan C. Wise and Teresa Wise on December 3, 1970 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  He leaves behind his parents and a very special friend of four years Diana Zapata and two sons Evans Chambers Wise III of the home and Tanner Willoughby of Stillwater, Oklahoma.  He also leaves behind five sisters Lawanna Billie of Meeker, Sytina Hendrix of Oklahoma City, Alisha & Benny Valdez of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Lisa and Chris Burchett of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Kristi and Rahfiel Lowry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Joseph Billie of Seminole and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and dear friends. Evans attended and graduated from Meeker High School in 1989 where he was an outstanding football player.  He also attended Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, Kansas.  In 1993 Evans moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina and owned and operated his own tree and landscaping company called “Wise Designs”.  He returned to Meeker in 2005. Evans also known as Junior or E.J. by his family and friends loved to play golf and was an avid OU fan and loved spending time with his son and also made time for all his classmates as well as his teachers one coach that was special and he always talked about was coach Greenfield.  Evans could brighten any room he walked into with just a smile.  His friend Ed Vandenberg said Junior touched many people’s lives.  He was a good friend to all who knew him.  He was a unique soul and was a character the likes of which you only meet once in a lifetime.  I cannot think of anyone from Meeker that does not have a good Junior story.  He could make anyone laugh and was like a bolt of lightening on the football field.  All who knew him will miss him. Junior is preceded in death by his grandparents Lewis and Mandy Wise and one brother Eastman Ray Wise. A wake service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.  Rev. Houston Tiger will officiate.  Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Casket Bearers will be: Todd Thompson, Chad Coleman, Travis Smith, James Bruce, Brandon Elliot, Aaron Gomez and Steve Partain. Honorary Bearers will be:  John Greenfield, Terry Wise, Zane Wise, Zack Wise, Chris Bruchett, and Ryan Burchett. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
