Evans Chambers Wise

December 16, 1946 — July 28, 2021

Evans Chambers Wise of Meeker passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the age of 74.

Evans, better known as Peanut, was born December 16, 1946, to Lewis and Mandy (Tiger) Wise, in Seminole.  Peanut was a welder by trade, he worked for and retired from Tinker Air Force Base.  On June 1, 1971, he married Teresa Harjo in Seminole.  In 1980 they moved to Meeker, where they established their home and raised their family.  He enjoyed fishing and was very skilled doing leather work and wood work.  He also enjoyed road trips and spending time around his telescope, frequently grabbing all of the family to go view into universe.  Teresa once told Peanut that when the kids were grown he was going to learn how to cook; he took the challenge head on and became quite a cook.  His door was always open; Peanut loved visiting with family and friends.

Peanut was preceded in death by two sons, Eastman and Evans Jr; his parents; sisters, Elizabeth Middleton and Mae Wise; brothers, Jack Earl, Jimmy and Timothy; and brother-in-law, Jerry Lowe.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; one son, Joseph; 5 daughters, Lawanna and Albert Eagle, Tina Hendrix, Alisha and Benny Valdez, Lisa and Christopher Burchette, and Kristie and Rahfiel Lowry; brothers, Winfred, Terry and Chenena, and Gerald; sisters, Annie Dixon and Jimmy Locust, Charlene Lowe, Geraldine and David Little, Velma Coker and Rosetta Pebworth; 21 grandchildren, 17 great grand children, and many other family and friends.
