Eva Inez (Harper) Green, longtime Konawa area resident, died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Jan Francis Care Center in Ada at the age of 83. She was born on October 19, 1923 in Pottawatomie County, OK to Ernest & Hettie (Jordan) Harper. Inez attended schools at Sacred Heart Mission, Georgetown and Ray City. She married Virgel Green on May 25, 1941 in Pottawatomie County. She was a loving homemaker and live-in caretaker in Oklahoma City and surrounding areas for many years. Inez enjoyed the outdoors, growing flowers and talking about "old times" and the "good ole days". She was known as "Granny Grunt" by her grandchildren. She endured many months of illness and troubled waters in her last days here without any complaints. She has went on to a better home and she will be dearly missed by family and friends. rnInez is survived by two sons, Jerry Green of Asher and David Green of Konawa; three daughters, Sandra Langston of Pensacola, FL, Marilyn Norman of Konawa and Carolyn Eberle of Konawa; one sister, Wynema Merrell of Konawa; special friend and caregiver, Donna Hobbs of Konawa; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgel on Dec. 25, 1967; two sisters Louise Shawn and Marcie Reese; one brother, Ernest Harper, Jr, and two grandsons, Thomas Birdwell and Brian Langston.rnGraveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Konawa Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Sates and Rev. Wesley Martin officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be grandsons and family. Honorary bearers will be Walter Lamb, Bruce James, Brett Phillips, Keith Allicock, George Clay, Clarence Osborne and Don Herman.
