On March 27, 1923 Charley and Faye Molleur’s world became a little brighter with the birth of their first child, Eugene E. (Gene) Molleur. On Monday, August 22, 2011 we lost one more World War II Veteran as Gene left this world to join his parents, his wife Evelyn, and son, Neil and many others in San Angelo, Texas. His services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Brent Ferren and Eddie Neill officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole, where he lived for many years. Gene moved from Oklahoma to New Mexico, then on to Mertzon, Texas, in 2005. He later moved to Rio Concho Terrace, then on to Regency House in San Angelo, Texas. He grew up and attended schools in Cleveland, Oklahoma area. He was drafted into the U.S.Army in March of 1942. He served Basic Training in Ft. Lewis, Washington, then in Ft. Polk, Louisiana, Camp Phillips in Kansas, Camp Miles Standish in Massachusetts, leaving there to ship out to Cherbourg, France. He was stationed in South Hampton, England, then back to Camp Chaffee, Arkansas where he was discharged. He married Jenny Evelyn Neill of Wewoka, Oklahoma in a double ceremony with Evelyn’s brother Homer Neill and Gene’s cousin Louise Molleur in Stroud, Oklahoma on November 14, 1945. Gene spent most of his working career in the oilfield. He moved the family to Tatum, New Mexico in 1958, working as a Plant Operator for Sinclair Oil and Gas Company. He was transferred in 1968 to Seminole, Oklahoma where he worked at the Gas Plant until 1975 when he retired. Later Gene and Evelyn moved to Lake Eufaula where they both spent enjoyable times fishing together with family and friends. Gene loved to hunt and fish. There were many enjoyable times he talked about the Neill Hunting Trips and the memories that were created there. Serving the Lord and studying the Bible was very important to him. Gene and Evelyn were members of Ideal Street Baptist Church in Seminole and Whitefield Baptist Church in Enterprise, Oklahoma. After Evelyn’s death in 2001, Gene remained at the lake until 2005 when he moved to Crossroad’s New Mexico and then on to the Mertzon-San Angelo area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Charley and Faye Molleur, son Neil Molleur, wife Evelyn Molleur, 2 sisters, Ethalee Ferren and Jane White, and brother Bob Molleur. Survivors include daughter Jeanne Bilbrey and husband Marion of Crossroads, New Mexico, son Loren Molleur and wife Cydney of Andrews, Texas, daughter D. Maxine McAllister and husband Duane of Mertzon, Texas, daughter-in-law Anne Molleur (wife of the late Neil Molleur of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, daughter Margaret Nesbitt and husband Gene of Wichita Falls, Texas, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, brother Charles Molleur and wife Barbara of Edmond, Oklahoma, sister Joan Fox and husband JR of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and sister Carol Walker and husband Freddie of Edmond, Oklahoma. Many nieces and nephews of both the Molleur and Neill families as well as his special “In Laws” from the Neill family also survive him. We would like to thank Dr. Taylor, Dr. Leon, Dr. Yoho, Dr. Cook, and Dr. Kasberg for the wonderful care that you gave to Daddy, the wonderful nurses at San Angelo Community for the care that you gave him while he was there. A very special “ Thank You” goes to Maggie Zapata for the wonderful care you gave to Daddy while he was at Rio Concho Terrace, to the great nurses with Interim Home Health, to the great staff of both Rio Concho Terrace and Regency House, his special hair dressers at both places for taking care of that beautiful gray hair he had, an a special “ Thanks” to Roy and Gloria and the other drivers for taking him where he needed to be, and the staff of Lighthouse Hospice for taking good care of him.
