Ethleen (Lusty) Harjo, 66 year old Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her home in Shawnee. She was born April 10, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to parents, John Wayne Lusty and Elizabeth (Williams) Lusty. Ethleen was a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (the Mekusukey Band). She was a homemaker and a member of Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. On February 3, 1986, Ethleen married Thomas Harjo in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Harjo of the home, four sons, Apler Abe Walters, Jr. of Newcastle, Oklahoma, James Daniel Walters of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, John Wayne Walters of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tony Ray Walters of Union City, Oklahoma, and Thomas Harjo Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma. Five daughters, Vanessa Michelle Walters of Seminole, Oklahoma, Cimarron Gale Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Thomasine Nicole Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Sharon Hicks of Okemah, Oklahoma, and Cassandra Star of Ponca City, Oklahoma. Two brothers, Richard Lusty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Joney Lusty of Lexington, Oklahoma, 30 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and dear friends. Ethleen was preceded in death by her parents, John Wayne and Elizabeth Lusty, by one granddaughter, Cheyna Harjo, by two brothers, Floyd Williams and Leonard Lusty. The body will be taken to Sand Creek Church at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016 for a wake service at 6:00 p.m. The body will be taken to Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 for the funeral service Friday at 2:00 p.m. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa with Rev. Houston Tiger and Jimpsey Harjo officiating the service. Casket Bearers will be: Ricky Williams, Elijah Walters, Louis Lusty, Kobe “Huggabear” Roman, Sagey Joe Hicks, and Gary Osborne. Honorary Bearers will be: Abe Walters Jr., James Walters, John Walters, Tony Walters, Thomas Harjo Jr., Carl Wood, Russell Johnson, and Kevin Johnson.
