Ethel Oleta (Davis) Richard

July 8, 1928 — December 16, 2014

Ethel Oleta (Davis) Richard, long time Seminole area resident, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the age of 86. Ethel was born July 8, 1928 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to George Washington and Julie Evelyn (Waller) Davis.  After marrying James Elmer Richard on May 12, 1947, they soon moved to the Seminole area, James passed away July 10, 2010. Ethel attended the Bowlegs Assembly of God church before she became ill.  She loved her church and she loved singing.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and when she was able, she very much enjoyed shopping. Ethel leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, James R. Richard and his wife Sheila of Security, Colorado and Leroy D. Richard of Seminole, Oklahoma; two daughters, Bertha L. Davidson and her husband Larry of Seminole, Oklahoma and Oleta Underwood and her husband Jimmy of Maud, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Julie Davis, her husband, James E. Richard, two brothers, George E. Davis and Lon Davis and a sister, Bertha Davis. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Cherry Hill Cemetery near Saint Louis, Oklahoma with Brother Roy Roberson officiating.  Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.   Funeral Information: December 20, 2014, 10:00 AM Graveside Service under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home located at 1001 N.
