Ethel R. (Mayo) Phillips, 91 Ethel R. (Mayo) Phillips, a resident of Seminole county for 45 years, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016 in Wewoka, Oklahoma at the age of 91. Ethel was born April 28, 1925 in Washington, Oklahoma to parents Jessie Mayo and Stella (Lee) Mayo. Ethel moved to Oklahoma from California. She graduated from Dibble High School, Dibble, Oklahoma. Ethel was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the First Baptist Church of Bowlegs, Oklahoma. She was a cook at Bowlegs school for 13 years and also worked at Seminole Wal-Mart for 10 years. Ethel married Claude Phillips on July 10, 1954 in Los Angeles, California. Claude passed away in 1986. Ethel is survived by four sons, Chester Phillips of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, Delbert Phillips of Oklahoma, Forest Phillips of Arizona, James Phillips of Oklahoma; two daughters, Chris Siminiski and her husband Rich of New York, Jean Ryan and her husband, Gary of Wolf, Oklahoma; one brother, Noriss Lee “Shorty” Mayo of Dibble, Oklahoma; one sister, Ruby Virginia Marrow and her husband Ray of Colorado; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.  Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Stella Mayo; husband, Claude Phillips in 1986; three sons, Claude Richard Phillips, Jr. who passed away in 1954, Charles Phillips who passed away in 1996 and Richard Phillips who passed away in 2006; two sisters, Lula Bell Holmes and Betty Marrow. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Little Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Serving as casket bearers are: Chester Phillips, Gary Ryan, Jerry Brashears, Billie James, Adam Phillips and Chris Hale.
