Ethel Alberta Darnell departed this life to go the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2008, after a lengthy illness at her home in Seminole. rnrnEthel was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Seminole. Over the years, she worked in the laundry and restaurant business to help support her family. She enjoyed crocheting and visiting with family and friends. rnrnEthel was born on October 10, 1919, in Lamar, Colorado, to Elmer Lewis and Mina Louis (Graham) Halstead. rnrnThose preceding her in death are: parents, Elmer Lewis and Mina Louise Halstead, brothers, Richard and Robert Halstead; husband, Richard Irving Dillon, son, William Leroy Dillon, daughter, Ethel Roberta Devlin and step-son, Montie James Dillon. rnrnThose surviving her are: daughters, Nancy Catherene Mullen of Seminole and Jessie Evelyn and Miguel Villalobos of St. John, Arizona; sons Edward Lewis and Patsy Dillon of Oklahoma City, Richard Erving Dillon, Jr. of Independence, Missouri, George Andy and Judy Dillon of Seminole; adopted son, Jack Dennis Darnell, Jr.; step-children, Olga Faye Baehr, Mojave, California, Mary Francis Halstead of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Leota Mae Riccio of Vermont; sisters, Jessie Mercer of Wisconsin and Lois Wright of Colorado. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends to mourn her passing. rnrnA Celebration of her life will be held at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Interment will follow at Avery Cemetery in Avery, Oklahoma near Cushing, Oklahoma. rnrnPallbearers will be: Richard Dillon, James Dillon, Michael Van-Brunt, Sam Van-Brunt, Leroy Halstead and Dewayne Dillon. rnrnHonorary Pallbearers will be: George Dillon, Marshall Dillon, Edward Dillon, Donald Webb, Robert Morris, and Richard I.
