Ernest Darrell Stephens, 70, longtime Seminole resident, passed away, Friday, March 1, 2019, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Ernest was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 8, 1948 to Donald Stephens and Wanda (Mound) Stephens-Albright. Ernest was a career owner of his own trucking company. He later worked for a span of 20 years for Jack’s trucking of Seminole, Oklahoma and Dale Brown Trucking in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ernest served in the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart and 2 Oak Leaf Clusters. Ernest was a graduated of the University of Oklahoma, and held a degree in accounting. He loved fishing, camping, prison ministry, cards and marble games, but mostly playing with his grandkids and great grandkids. He is survived by his wife Mauda Scott Green-Stephens of Seminole, Oklahoma, they were married on October 2, 2006 in Wewoka, Oklahoma; his brother Charles “ Charlie” Stephens of Moore, Oklahoma and former step son Jeff Hunter of Norman, Oklahoma, his step father, Ray Albright of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and a special aunt Polly Patterson; thirteen grandchildren; Kelsey Green, Shawn Weaver of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Kris and Paige Green of Holdenville, Oklahoma; Devin and Chasity Green of Seminole, Oklahoma, Brittany Green, Josh Lewis of Seminole, Oklahoma, Ashlynn and Corey Eagleton of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Brady White of Seminole, Oklahoma, five great grandchildren; Hazen Green, Jamie Green Weaver, Hadley Eagleton, Kinsey Eagleton, Cooper Eagleton and one great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Pam Stephens, brother David Albright and a great grandchild, “baby Green”. Memorial services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the Lord’s Community Church located at 501 N. 5th Street in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Jimmy and Nita Moreland and Prison Minister Randy Lehman officiating.
