Ernest Conatser

Ernest Dwight Conatser With his children by his side, Ernest Dwight Conatser, a long time Maud resident, passed from this life to be with his Lord on February 14, 2013.  He was born in Amarillo, TX, January 3, 1944 to the late Loretta Jewell Chaffin-Conatser Johnson and the late J. B. Conatser.  The memorial service is scheduled for Monday, February 18th at 10:00 am at Swearingen Funeral Home Seminole, OK. Officiating the service will be Reverend Ann Mahler, 1st Church of God, Holdenville.  His remains will be interred at Mount Ida Cemetery in Sevier County, Arkansas, alongside his parents. Mr. Conatser is survived by his two children, Sherri Conatser (Ishawn New) and Cliffton Conatser, all of Seminole, OK; two sisters: Judy (Ken) Dodgen of Mena, AR; Yvonne (Johnny) Green of Denton, TX; and two brothers: Jerry (Sharron) Conatser of McLoud, OK; James (Billie) Conatser of Elkhart, TX.  He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kena Rhoten of Moore, OK and Mason Seeley of Seminole, OK; as well as three great-grandchildren, Kamari, Emree and Jakobi Hill of Moore, OK; and special friend, Karin Hahn, of Temple, TX.  He is also survived by numerous, loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and so many other family and friends, including the administration and staff of SSC and the regular Tuesday evening staff meeting crew at Western Sizzlin. Mr. Conatser attended school in Grand Prairie, TX and carried on the family tradition of concrete construction until he joined the staff in the maintenance department at Seminole State College in 1990 He retired from SSC in 2008.  Mr. Conatser enjoyed fishing and camping, country/gospel music, and visiting the guys at Cash Western Wear.  He especially enjoyed the Chaffin Reunions and the Chaffin/Conatser Cousins Float and Fishing trips. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his sister Reta May Conatser-Villanueva.
