Eric Paul Stoup

On January 23, 2021, this world lost the best crime-fighting hero that it has ever seen. Eric Paul Stoup was born on September 14, 1967 to Oliver Lee and Gracie Stoup. That day started one of the greatest adventures of the Stoup family’s lives. Eric was his family’s Superman. He loved horses and was the best air-guitarist around. He graduated from Konawa High School in 1989 and spent his time spreading laughter and love to all of those that knew him. If there was anything that made him happy, it was his favorite meal consisting of hamburger, french fries and a Dr. Pepper, riding around in Mark’s farm truck or singing with his sister to Mama Mia.

Heaven needed this superman of a sweetheart, so God felt the need to call our sweet angel home to join his mother and father, who preceded him in death. He left behind many people who are happier just because they knew him. Those that remain include his sister and brother-in-law, Marina and Greg Valley of Norman, his brother and sister-in-law, Brandon Lee and Sheree Stoup of Konawa, his brother, Mark Stoup of Konawa, his niece Alexandria Newton and her husband Kenneth, his niece Sydney Stoup, his niece Francesca Valley, his nephew Lee Stoup and wife Bonnie, his nephew Ryan Stoup and wife Casey, his nephew Dalton Stoup, his great-nephew Weston Stoup, his great-niece Selena Stoup and two new family members that he will have to watch over from Heaven.

Public viewing for Eric will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 26 and 2 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 27 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Konawa City Cemetery with Ed Bray officiating. Masks and social distancing are recommended for those who attend the service.

Carrying our Superman to his final resting place are pallbearers; Brandon Stoup, Mark Stoup, Greg Valley, Lee Stoup, Ryan Stoup and Dalton Stoup. Honorary bearers will be all Eric's friends and neighbors.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa, Oklahoma.
