Emral Lee “Papa” Guinn, 82 year-old longtime Saint Louis, Oklahoma resident passed from this life Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his home.  He was born January 21, 1928 in Maud, Oklahoma to parents Delvy Emral Guinn and Gracie Ann (Lankford) Guinn. He married Nelda Fern Moody on October 5, 1945 in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Emral along with his wife started Guinn Oil Company in 1965. Emral was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.  Anyone who knew him knows that his generosity was unending and his kindness unmatched.  Emral was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Maud he was also a member of the Maud Roundup Club; he was named “Oilman of the year”; he also served on Saint Louis School Board of Education for several years; he enjoyed showing his horses and had owned three of the top halter horses in the world according to the American Quarter Horse Association. Emral leaves to cherish his memory one daughter and son-in-law, Wynema Marshalee “Winnie” (Guinn) and her husband Bill Buley of Saint Louis, Oklahoma; one chosen son, Jr. Williams and his wife Connie of Saint Louis, Oklahoma (Nelda always jokingly said, “She wore Jr. home on her boots and Emral just had to get use to him.”); two granddaughters, Matonna and her husband Mark Haynes and Maleea (Montgomery) Brock all of Maud, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Emral Layn Haynes, Matraya Erralee Haynes and TyLee Fren Brock; special niece, Airawona “Roshel” (Moody) Stobel and her husband Stewart of Lakin, Kansas and Christie Kay (Moody) McClaskey and her husband Gary of Maud, Oklahoma; step-grandchildren, Burl Buley and his wife Cathy of Franklin, Tennessee, Randy Kenyon and his wife Kay of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Jerrel Buley and his wife Shalisa of Harrah, Oklahoma; Jr. Williams daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Greg Beverage and their son Jase of Saint Louis, Oklahoma; and a host of other nieces, nephews and a lot of dear friends. Emral is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Nelda Fern Guinn who died April 29, 2008; one brother, Albert Guinn and Albert’s wife June Guinn; one sister, Erma Guinn; and by one sister-in-law, Rogean (Moody) Worl who died December 15, 2007. A Celebration of Emral’s life will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Seminole First Baptist Church located at 420 Reid Street in Seminole, Oklahoma.  Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma.  Rev. Marvin Kehl and Glenn Williams will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud on Monday, October 18, 2010 until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. – The family will receive friends at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family has requested that donations be made in memory of Emral to the Maud Nutrition Center at P.O. Box 165, Maud, Oklahoma 74854 or to the charity of your choice. Casket Bearers will be: Greg Beverage, Robert Lowden, Brandon Potts, Emral Layn Haynes, Danny Hedge, David Smith and Mark Haynes. Honorary Bearers will be: Dan Hamilton, Bill Buley, Kenneth Stalnaker and all of his oilfield buddies. Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home.
