Emma Juanita Phillips, 86, longtime Seminole resident, crossed the great divide Sunday, June 11, 2017 at her home. Juanita was born August 11, 1930 at the Sun Oil Camp at Carr City, Oklahoma to Henry Albert Welch and Viola Lee-Bell (McHenry) Welch Courim. She attended Bowlegs Public Schools and graduated from Bowlegs High School in 1948. She loved reading, self educating, spending time with her family, being outdoors, traveling and going to new places, movies and being a grandmother. She was a homemaker, member of the First Christian Church, Disciple of Christ in Seminole, Oklahoma, volunteered at the Seminole Hospital, was employed at Wacker’s Store during high school and briefly worked as office manager at Farm Bureau office in the 1960’s. The family remembers her as a person who loved to expand their minds by discussing all sides of any topic, she always made each family member feel as though they were the favorite, she was a loving person and extremely unfiltered. She married Don Jack Phillips on August 14, 1948 in Harrah, Oklahoma. They built their life and family on the family farm north of Seminole, where they lived. Don preceded her in death on July 1, 2014. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Crumbliss and her husband Larry of Drumright, Oklahoma, and Catherine McCartney of Yukon, Oklahoma, two sons; Terry Don Phillips and his wife Betty of Carney, Oklahoma and John Casey Phillips and his wife Sibbya of Seminole, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren Erika Hardin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Terry Case Phillips of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, Greg Crumbliss of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brian Crumbliss of Edmond, Oklahoma ,Daniel Phillips of Texas, Hallie McCartney of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Emma McCartney of Dallas, Texas and Jina Phillips-Farar of Cushing, Oklahoma; eleven great grandchildren, Lachan Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Samuel Farar, Trace Farar, Chance Crumbliss, Sarai Crumbliss, Una Phillips, Sara Phillips, Abby Phillips, Lilly Phillips and Auna Phillips, one great great grandchild, Eziqual Solano, and many nieces and nephews as well as other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Phillips, her brother Roy Welch and two sisters Hazel Patterson and Mary Lee Welch Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday June 14, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev.
