Emma Leigh (Bruce) Lafferty

Emma Leigh (Bruce) Lafferty , age 55 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma on October 27, 2021.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma.  Rev. Mitch Williams will officiate.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Emma was born May 16, 1966 in Augusta, Georgia to Wilford Wayne Bruce and Juanita O. (Rucker) Bruce.  She graduated from high school in Colbert, Oklahoma, and she received an Associate Degree from the University of Central Arkansas.  Emma was the Financial Aid Director for University of Central Arkansas until she retired.  Emma was a member of the Colbert Methodist Church, and she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, redeoing, boating, and feeding the kids at the Rock.

She is survived by two sons, Ethan Lafferty of Mountain Home, Texas, and Cody Bruce and wife, Laynette Vilonia, Arkansas; one brother, Randy Bruce and wife, Mary Barnett of Colbert, Oklahoma; four sisters, Susie Morris and husband, Ronald Dean of Konawa, Connie Mincey of Lawton, Oklahoma, Linda Smith and husband, Tom of Konawa, and Melissa McKinney and husband, Phillip of Colbert; three grandchildren, Augustine, Aubrey, and Austin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Juanita Bruce; two brothers, Wayne Bruce and Roy Bruce.
