Elmer Gerald Totty, 68 year-old, Seminole resident passed from this life January 14, 2008 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born September 10, 1939 in Chaffee, Missouri to parents Edward B. Totty and Ruby Elaine (Moore) Totty.rnrnElmer served in the United States Army and married Joan Medrieth Cooper on July 21, 1958 in East St. Louis, Illinois. Together the couple moved to Seminole in 1971 from Palmdale, California. Mr. Totty worked as a self-employeed cement contractor who retired in 2007. He was also a member of the Harvey Road Baptist Church in Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnSurvivors include his wife Joan Totty of the home. Three daughters, Becky Watkins and her fianc?e, Mike Leach of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Judy and her husband, Gary Lane of Seminole, Oklahoma and Joanne and her husband, Rodger Mills of Seminole, Oklahoma. Three brothers also survive, Douglas Totty and twin brothers Ronald and Donald Totty all of Collinsville, Illinois. Two sisters Betty and her husband Alois Martinez of Seminole, Oklahoma and Dianna and her husband Thomas Merrell of Fairmont, Illinois.rnrnOther survivors include six grandchildren, DeAnna and husband Josh Copeland of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Traci and husband Charles Bradley of Shreveport, Louisiana, Kimberly Lane of Edmond, Oklahoma, Wesley Lane of Seminole, Oklahoma, Derrick Ishman of Seminole, Oklahoma and Heath Ishman of Seminole, Oklahoma. Also two great grandchildren survive, Colton Copeland of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Garret Ishman of Seminole, Oklahoma.rnrnElmer is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Delbert Totty, Edward Totty and Elmer?s twin brother, Delmer Totty; three sisters who were triplets, Delores Totty, Doris Frieses and Delezene Totty.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2008 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole.
