Elmer “A.C.” Collier, 81, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Avonlea Cottage in Shawnee, Oklahoma. A.C. was born July 9, 1935 in Bowlegs, Oklahoma to Elmer Eugene Collier and Alice (Self) Collier. A.C. grew up in Bowlegs and attended Bowlegs Public Schools, later living in Tulsa, Oklahoma for many years before moving back to Seminole in 1991. He owned and operated his own trucking company, which hauled loads for many different companies during his working career. He loved playing music and his guitar, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sands Springs, Oklahoma. A.C. is survived by his son Dent Eugene Collier of Tulsa, Oklahoma, two daughters, Rhonda of Amarillo, Texas and Robin of Michigan, his brother, Leon Collier of Wewoka, Oklahoma and his sister, Delilah Davis of Shawnee, Oklahoma and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Matt Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Thrace Cemetery, south of Bowlegs, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be; Mike Davis, Keith Davis, Cole Davis, Kenneth Self, Mark Barnhart and Steve Collier.
