Ellis H. Shaw, lifelong Konawa resident, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008 at his residence in Konawa at the age of 91. rnHe was born December 25, 1916 in Konawa to Rufus Taylor Shaw and Julia Mae (Slaughter) Shaw.rnrnEllis married Annie Vee (Hale) on May 30, 1936 in Konawa and she preceded him in death on May 9, 2006.rnrnHe worked in the greater area oil fields all of his life having worked for Johnson & Bates Drilling in Konawa for several years.rnrnEllis was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Konawa.rnrnHe is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Laretta & Bob Branscum of Duncan, Paula & Don Gallagher of Konawa and Kay & Bill West of Seminole; rnone sister, Norma Mosley of Konawa;rnone brother, Leslie "Jim" Shaw of Roosevelt, Utah;rnsister-in-law, Maggie Shaw of Woodburn, OR;rn11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.rnrnHe was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Annie (Shaw) Taylor and four brothers.rnrnFuneral services will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa with Pastor Pam Shirk officiating.rnrnServing as casket bearers will be Randy Taylor, Cody Baldridge, Brett Shaw, Mark Shaw, Jamie Branscum, Brandon Gallagher, Bill Frankovich, Shawn Spencer and Bobby Branscum.rnrnBurial will follow at Vista Cemetery.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home, Konawa.
