Ellen Tilda (McIntyre) Carriger, age 99 and a long-time resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009, at Jan Francis Care Center in Ada, Oklahoma. Ellen had lived in Konawa for the past twenty-five years. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16th, at the Assembly of God Church in Konawa under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa. Rev. Steve Lowrance, Pastor of the Assembly of God Church will officiate. Pallbearers are Ernest McIntyre, Oddis McIntyre, Cloise McIntyre, Jim Hutchinson, Roger Abbott, and Matthew Bryant. Honorary pallbearers are James Bryant, and George Moore. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery. Ellen was born on November 10, 1909, to Buford A. and Vinnie (Hinsley) McIntyre in Little Rock, Arkansas. She married Roy Carriger and was a janitor for the Midwest City, Oklahoma School system. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Konawa. She is survived by one daughter, Delora Moore and husband, George of Midwest City, Oklahoma; one sister, Viola Knight of Konawa; two grandchildren, Deborah Hutchinson and Beth Carriger; one great grandchild, Melissa Hutchinson; and four nephews, Jeff Woolwine, Oddis McIntyre, Cloise McIntyre, and Ernest E. McIntyre. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Vinnie McIntyre; her husband, Roy Carriger, and one son, Lindel Carriger; two brothers, Edgel and Elmer McIntyre; and one sister, Cora Graham.
