Elizabeth Geraldine Franklin, 90, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident died, Friday September, 27, 2013 in Seminole. She was born January 3, 1923 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Brooks and Edna (Knight) Turner. Elizabeth retired from Blue Bell Manufacturing in Seminole in 1988 as a quality control inspector. Prior to that she was an upholsterer and worked in ship yards during World War II. She graduated from Luther High School, Luther, Oklahoma. Elizabeth was an avid reader and loved going to the Seminole Library. She loved gardening, raising flowers and quilting. She was a lifetime member of Daughters of the Confederacy and the Water Garden Society in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Bobbi Franklin of Seminole, Oklahoma and a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Brian Higgs of Everett, Washington. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Doug Patterson, Steve Patterson, Melissa Critton, Athena Petterson, Sarah Franklin and Dillon Franklin and her great grandchildren, Shelby Patterson, Dustin Patterson and Jordan Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son David B. Patterson. Graveside services are planned for 4:00 P.M., Monday, September 30, 2013 at Little Cemetery with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be at Little Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
