Eleanor Jean ( Petri) VanHooser Lockhart, 90, Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 in Seminole. Eleanor was born November 28, 1926 in Peoria, Illinois to William Petri and Edith (Miskimen) Petri. Eleanor moved to Seminole, Oklahoma in 1980 with her husband and they owned J & EL Ranch north of Seminole. Eleanor was a longtime Teacher’s assistant for Shawnee Public Schools in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Howett Street Christian Church in Peoria, Illinois, Lifetime member of  Eastern Star –Central City Chapter # 42 in Peoria, Illinois, and was a one of the very first volunteers at the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum in Seminole, when it opened. She enjoyed crafts, stained glass, gardening and water aerobics at Seminole State College. Eleanor married James Burdette Lockhart on December 6, 1968 in Canton, Illinois, he preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Ward and her husband Stan of Seminole, Oklahoma, Gene Van Hooser, Sandra’s Father, two granddaughters Rebecca Ward Flowers and her husband David of Bethel Acres, west of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and April Gentry and her husband Mark of Seminole, Oklahoma, three great grandchildren Alexis, Madison and Noah Gentry of Seminole, Oklahoma, two great great grandchildren Josh and Jerzey Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James Lockhart, two brothers Robert and Richard Petri. Graveside services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Resthaven Memorial Park Trinity Chapel east of Shawnee, Oklahoma, with her granddaughter April Gentry officiating.
