Effie Mae (Parsons) Smith Former Seminole resident Effie Mae (Parsons) Smith passed way on September 2, 2009 in Sulphur Springs, Texas at the age of 91. She was born on July 23, 1918 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Jesse Lee and Tempie (Lane) Jones. She left Seminole in November of 2008 to live with Cindy and Larry. She loved flowers and gardening as well as going to flea markets and garage sales. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law: Connie and Carmello Perez of Edmond, Oklahoma, Betty and Lawrence Metoyer of Marshall, Texas, Virginia Martin of Healdton, Oklahoma, Loretta and Glenn Stafford of Hot Springs, Arkanas and Cindy and Larry Johnson of Sulphur Springs, Texas, sister, Betty Cox of Curio, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren: Greg Fitzwater, Lea Ann Hamilton, Karen Tucker, Matt Bean, David Martin, Jeremy Stafford, Joshua Johnson as well as 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents, son, Bill Parsons, grandson, Steven Martin, three brothers and one sister. The family would like to give special thank you to Tammy Stegall and Hospice at Memorial in Sulphur Springs for all the love and care they have given to Effie. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Danny Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Little. Casket Beares will be: Larry Johnson, Joshua Johnson, David Martin, Matt Bean, Jeremy Stafford and Frank Carter.
