Effie Marie (Harms) Barton, age 93 and a former resident of Seminole County, passed away at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma on Sunday, August 14, 2011. Funeral services are schedule for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa, Oklahoma. Rev. Dale Harms, Associate Pastor of Gospel Beams Church in Duncan, Oklahoma will officiate. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery. Effie was born on November 18, 1917 in Seminole County to Henry and Marjie (Risenhoover) Harms. She worked as the Activity Director for Tucker’s Nursing Home in Konawa. Effie was a widow who during her life had been married to and preceded in death by her husbands, Ewell Williams, Pete Millican, and lastly Clifton Barton. Effie loved to quilt, and she loved her church, Konawa Assembly of God where she was a charter member. She is survived by one son, Afton and Debbie Millican of Konawa, Oklahoma; five daughters, Francis Bottoms of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Geraldine Lee of Ada, Oklahoma, Joann and Leonard Cheek of Cedar Hill, Texas, Geneva Millican of Gallup, New Mexico, and Joyce and Richard Wood of Konawa; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Marjie Harms; one son, Raymond Williams, her husbands, Ewell Williams, Pete Millican, and Clifford Barton; five brothers and two sisters.
