Edward Renfro

Edward Eugene “Gene “Renfro, 78, Shawnee resident died Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Gene was born January 2, 1934 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Lee Roy and Katie Evelyn (Killian) Renfro. Gene grew up in the Wanette, Oklahoma area and graduated from Wanette High School. Gene owned and operated Renfro Construction and was well known for his quality home framing business done in the Shawnee and Seminole areas; he retired in 2010. Gene married Lelia Delores Renfro on June 9, 1989 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Gene was a loving family man and enjoyed spending time with his family and many outdoor activities. His family loved him very much and will miss him dearly. Gene is survived by his wife Lelia of the home in Shawnee, Oklahoma; one son Donn Renfro of Naperville, Illinois, two daughters Ronda Cathey of Seminole, Oklahoma and Crystal Howe of Stillwater, Oklahoma, he is also survived by two brothers Claude   “Buck” Renfro of Pink, Oklahoma and Roy Renfro of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, one sister Evelyn LaVerne Renfro Skinner of Wichita Falls, Texas. He is survived by his nine grandchildren; JP, Abbey, Nick and Emily Renfro, Christa Sanderson, Carol Bush, Zachary, Coleman and Trevor Howe, and one great grandson Jayce Sanderson. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and a sister Rosalee Skinner. Funeral services will be held 10: 00 A.M., Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole with burial at Little Cemetery. Rev. Bill Chesser will officiate at the service. Casket bearers will be Donn Renfro, Travis Howe, Zackary Howe, Coleman Howe, Ethan Sanderson and Bobby Bush. Honorary bearers will be Buck Renfro and Roy Renfro.
