Former Seminole resident, Edward Cedartree Jr, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023, in Tulsa.
Edward, the son of Edward Cedartree Sr., and Katherine (Yarbrough) Gibson, was born December 12, 1949, in Clinton, Oklahoma. Edward graduated high school with the Greenfield High School, class of 1967. After completing high school, Edward attended Seminole Junior College and continued on to East Central University, where he studied English Literature. Edward worked for many years in Seminole at the Clausing Feed Store. He was a lover of all things; an outdoorsman, Edward loved animals and being in nature, he was particularly fond of dogs, he loved his family, he always told his sisters how much he loved them, and he loved his children and grandchildren. Edward also had a great appreciation for classical music, especially Mozart. Edward was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Konawa, Edward received Christ and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; two sisters; one brother; three nephews and one niece.
Edward is survived by his son, Axel Cedartree; a daughter, Ella Cedartree; nine grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Glenn Gibson and Patti, Tommy Gibson and Patricia, Tony Gibson, and Scott Gibson and girlfriend, Debra Lewis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen Ward and Frank, Marsha Gibson, and Tonette George and Ed; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Casket bearers will be Tony Gibson, Dylan Gibson, Norman Island Jr., Kyle Porter, Tommy Ray Gibson, and Cody Harjo.
A wake service is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. ~ 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
Services will be Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Steve Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Vamoosa Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
