Edna Mae Inman

Edna Mae Inman, 72, longtime Seminole resident died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Norman, Oklahoma. Mrs. Inman was born March 8, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Charles Theodore and Jessie Lorraine (Spears) Streeter. She came to Oklahoma from New York at an early age, where she grew up and later graduated from Wewoka High School in Wewoka, Oklahoma.  Edna later moved to the Seminole area in 1963 from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Edna was a Homemaker and later in life after her children were raised she bought the Right-Way Fence Company of Seminole and operated it from 1980 to 1995. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Inman was an avid bird hunter and also loved camping and fishing. She and her husband, Allen, raised bird dogs and had 2 dogs that were Oklahoma Dogs of the Year and one that was a national champion bird dog. Edna was also the First Woman President of the National Bird Hunters Association. Edna was married to Allen Leon Inman on August 20, 1956 in Wewoka, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1999. Two daughters and a son-in-law survive her: Teresa and Larry Baker of Seminole, Oklahoma and Sheila Underwood of Earlsboro, Oklahoma. Three sisters Vida Turner of Noble, Oklahoma, Donna Twiggs of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Judy Hopkins of Harrah, Oklahoma. Nine grandchildren Lance Underwood, Clayton Underwood, Keith Carter, Kevin Carter, Kacie Baker, Laresa Renegar, Shawna Bennett, Christy Cheatwood, Tonya Carter and nine great-grandchildren Cole, Wyat, Taylor, Taryn, Aerius, Zane, Allison, Duncan and Keira. Her parents and one son- Allen Dewayne Inman preceded Mrs. Inman in death. Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Temple Baptist Church at 1234 East Highland in Shawnee, Oklahoma with Rev. Mike Craig and C.L. Thomas officiating and burial at Little Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Lance Underwood, Clayton Underwood, Keith Carter, Kevin Carter, Cody Bennett, Andy Renegar, William Green and Todd Cheatwood.
