Edna Margaret Hobia, age 73, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born March 9, 1938 to Edmond and Magdalene Tanyan Fixico, in the Prairie Valley area northeast of Seminole. She attended school at Prairie Valley until the 8th grade and later earned her GED. She worked at Prairie Valley/Strothers School for 8 years as a bilingual teachers’ aide. She was baptized at an early age at Snake Creek # 2 where she was a life long member. She served as a Sister Leader for 35 years. She enjoyed Vacation Bible School and always looked forward to taking children to the Assembly ground and Falls Creek for Camp. She leaves behind her husband Bill Hobia Sr. of 49 years. Seven children: her daughters; Katherine Billie of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Nina Pettit of the home, Lenora and husband Alvin Miller of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Leanne and husband Terry Walker of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Meloche Hobia of Seminole, Oklahoma. Her two sons, Bill Hobia, Jr. of Seminole and Rocky and his wife Danielle Hobia of Shawnee, Oklahoma. She raised two grandchildren; Courtney and Keaton Hobia of Seminole, Oklahoma. She is also survived by two brothers; Kenneth and his wife Samarian Fixico and Samuel Fixico both of Seminole, Oklahoma., two sisters; Geneva and her husband Jackson Lowe of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Winona and her husband Chris Washington of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 20 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. A host and other family and friends also survive her. Her Mother and Father, sisters; Myrtle Johnson, Teresa Creek, and Bernice Kaskaske and a brother T.J. Fixico preceded her in death. She will be taken to Snake Creek # 2 on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. with a wake service starting at 7:30 P.M. Monday night. On Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. she will be moved to the Highway Baptist Church North of Little Cemetery on US 377. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor George Mooney and Rev. Kenneth Cooper will officiate the service. She will be laid to rest at Snake Creek # 2 church cemetery. Casket bearers will be Junior Fixico, Glen Lena, Jr., Johua Holata, Joe Fixico, Kiwane Hobia, Bill Hobia III and Kevin Rocky Hobia Jr. Honorary bearers will be Martha L. Mooney, Lucille Harrison, Juanita Wise, Eloise Factor, Leona Moppin and Aunt Millie Scott.
