Eddie Lee Duck

October 16, 1952 — August 17, 2013

Eddie Lee Duck, Jr., age 60 and a former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Norman Regional Hospital. A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21st at Vamoosa Cemetery under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa.  Rev. Kevin Duck will officiate.  Steve Johnson will perform the eulogy. Eddie was born on October 16, 1952 in Konawa to Ed Lee Duck, Sr. and Iona Christine (Phipps).  He earned an associate degree at Rose State College, and was a Sergeant in the Air Force from 1970 until 1973.  He married Debbie McBee on November 19, 1982 at the VA Chapel in Oklahoma City.  He retired as a machinist for Tinker Air Force Base and was a member of the VFW.  Eddie loved to watch television and to drink diet Coke. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Duck of the home; one son, Christopher Lee Duck of Norman, Oklahoma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve Duck and wife, Vicki of Del City, Oklahoma and Kevin Duck and wife, Janette  of Grove, Oklahoma; two sisters, Ercella Scroggins of Edmond, Oklahoma and Iona (Duck) Phipps of Garland, Texas; Step-mother, Nancy (Duck) Riggle of Konawa; one grandchild, Tyler Gifford of Purcell, Oklahoma; long-time friend, Steve Johnson; and numerous other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Lee Duck, Sr.  and Iona Christine Canfield; grandparents, Willie Lee “Bill” Duck and Lillie (Payne) Duck; and nephew, Johnny Duck.
