Eddie Wayne Bottom , age 74 and a resident of Macomb, Oklahoma passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on May 22, 2023.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Agri-Plex in Ada, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma. Donnie Gee will officiate, and burial will follow at Vista Cemetery. Casket bearers are C.T. Bryant, Charlie Ashcraft, Greg Hillerman, Mark Wartchow, Chad Wartchow, C.J. Sisco, and Bruce Colclasure. Honorary bearers are Ham Brown, Arthur Tye, Johnny Johnson, Hugh Sellers, Richard Bryant, Eddie Bottom, Jr., Daniel Fleming, Steven Rush, Sean Fleming, Andrew Fleming, and Jim Sharp. The family will greet guest Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eddie was born December 1, 1948 in Cordell, Oklahoma to Ralph Edward “Edd” Bottom and Lillie Marie (Reinschmeidt) Bottom. He graduated from Asher High School, and he married Charlotte Ann Crothers December 16, 1966 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Eddie was a member of the Army Reserves in the 1970's, and he was a member of the Northridge Church of Christ in Shawnee. Eddie was a member of several associations: National Cutting Horse Association, United States Cutting Horse Association, American Cutting Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, Southern Oklahoma Cutting Horse Association, and World Cutting Horse Association. Eddie was a longtime NCHA 4A judge, and a life-long competitor. He also loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Charlotte Bottom of the home; one son, Eddie Wayne Bottom, Jr. and wife, Kristin of Asher, Oklahoma; two daughters, Melanie Keck-Rush and husband, Steve of Madill, Oklahoma, and Steffanie Fleming and husband, Daniel of Asher, Oklahoma; three sisters, Darla Miles and husband, Steve of Asher, Oklahoma, Connie Wartchow and husband, Ronnie of Roff, Oklahoma, and Phyllis Sisco and husband, Richard of Asher, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Andrew, Sean, Shelby, Sarah, Chelsy, and Braxten; four great grandchildren, Coburn, Clayre, Quinnly, and Lillie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Lillie Bottom; and one sister, Charlotte Ann Bottom.
