Earnest Stillwell, Sr., 85 May 2, 1924 - October 22, 2009 Longtime Seminole resident Earnest Stillwell, Sr. passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 85. He was born on May 2, 1924 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Henry and Elum (Flenoy) Stillwell. Earnest married Mable (Sneed) Stillwell on May 10, 1947 and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2002.  Earnest served in the United States Army during WWII and received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal.  He then went on to work as a mechanic at Tinker Air Force Base until he retired.  He was a Deacon and President of the Usher Board as a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Serving his community by volunteering his time to register and drive them to the polls. Earnest Stillwell leaves to cherish his memories his children Earnestine Galbreath of Moore, Oklahoma; Earnest, Jr. and wife Toni Stillwell of Seminole, Oklahoma; Janie and husband Lewis Haywood of Moore, Oklahoma; J. Helen and husband Charles Perkins of Cordova, Tennessee; Jimmy L. Stillwell of Norman, Oklahoma; Sheretha Kay Stillwell of Norman, Oklahoma; Henry Stillwell of Compton, California and Shirley Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law, Mildred Stillwell; he is also survived by an abundance of grandchildren, great-grandchildren who lovingly refer to him as “Big Papa”, along with a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elum Stillwell; wife, Mable Stillwell; son, Walter Roper; three brothers, Houston James, Henry Stillwell, Jr. and Herman Stillwell; a loving niece, Johnnie Mae Foxx; daughter-in-law, Shirley Stillwell; grandson, Anthony Williams and two great-grandchildren, Destiny Pierce and Jamez Haywood. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2009 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Gains and Rev. Bobby Curry officiating.  Interment will follow at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma with military honors.  Pallbearers will be grandsons; Marlon Galbreath I, Lee Pierce, Kenney Patillio, Timothy Stillwell, Brian Cook, and great-grandsons, Marlon Galbreath II, and Jaleel Mouton.
