Earlene Sue Tibbs

Earlene Sue Tibbs Seminole resident Earlene Sue Tibbs, 69, went to be with her heavenly father late Tuesday evening, December 8, 2015.  Sue was born February 28, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Earl Southern and Priscilla (Stowers) Jackson. She married the love of her life, Cleo Tibbs in March, 1997.  He preceded her in death on December 26th, 2002. Sue graduated from Varnum schools.  As a young lady, Sue ventured to Texas and was in love with the state of Texas.  Later in life, Sue came back from Texas to be close to family.  She lived independently, enjoying country living and her love for dogs and horses.  She was also an avid reader. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother and her father, Ray B. Jackson, who raised her from a small child; a sister, Shirley June Woods; and her brothers, Buster Southern, Billy Southern, and Gary Wayne Southern.  Also, preceded in death by a nephew, Danny Southern and a niece, Lori Sparks. Survivors include her sisters and brother, Joan Southern Rose of Marion Ohio, Patricia  Southern Morgan of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Jimmy Southern of Farmington, New Mexico;   her daughters, Tammy Flood and Terri Stocks of Texas. Sue is also survived by several nieces and nephews, most notably, her nephew, Darrell Rose, with whom she was very close and relied upon in her later years in time of need. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her nephew, Darrell Rose; her great niece, Stephanie Jones, Seminole Estates and Faith Hospice for their loving care. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with Carl Whitfield officiating.  Interment will follow at Little Cemetery located north of Seminole on Hwy 377. Casket Bearers will be Darrell Rose, Gene Warner, Bradley Myers, Cole Middleton, Bryan Washburn and Coalton Smith Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
