Earl Floyd Russell, 85, longtime Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Earl was born September 6, 1934 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ira Edith (Stephenson) Russell and Sidney Francis Russell.  Earl grew up in Shawnee and attended North Rock Creek School and graduated from Shawnee High School.

Earl joined the United States Air Force at an early age and served for four years and was discharged at the rank of Airman First Class. He was stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia and was in the 649th Radar Squadron. After he returned from his military service, he worked alongside his father in the family chicken and egg business. Later he worked as a chicken feed mill operator. After his retirement he lived happily the remaining four plus years at Avonlea Cottage in Seminole. Earl enjoyed reading, listening to music, sightseeing, beekeeping and visiting with friends.  Earl was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Earl is survived by his brother S.O. Russell and his wife Ima Ruth of Seminole, Oklahoma , his niece Tamra Conner and her husband Rick of Seminole, Oklahoma, his nephew Mike Russell of Utah, great niece; Caley Conner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, great nephew; Andrew Conner, M.D., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and great niece Lyndsey Russell of Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew Patrick Russell.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Fairview Cemetery at 1400 N. Center Ave. in Shawnee, Oklahoma, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma is in charge of funeral arrangements.
