Earl Melton Lucas, 76 Earl Melton Lucas, a lifelong Seminole County resident, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at his home in Seminole County at the age of 76. Earl was born February 3, 1936 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to parents Joseph Lee Lucas and Vernia (Coney) Lucas. Earl moved to Seminole 55 years ago from Shawnee, Oklahoma. Earl was a member of Highway Baptist Church of Little, Oklahoma, for ten years he served as an ombudsman volunteer, which serves as a Nursing Home Advocate and he also retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ada. Earl was a route salesman, repaired vending machines and a route supervisor. Earl married Sammie (Butler) on June 2, 1956 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, they celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 2, 2006, she preceded him in death on January 18, 2009. Earl is survived by two sons; Mike Lucas and his wife Lynn of Seminole, Oklahoma, Wendel Lucas and his wife Jamie of Little Axe, Oklahoma, two daughters; Jackie Lucas of Seminole, Oklahoma and Teresa Woods and her husband Dallas of Dibble, Oklahoma. He is also survived by three brothers; Roy Lucas of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jimmy Lucas of Fort Worth, Texas and Elmer Lucas of Choctaw, Oklahoma, twelve grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Amber Lucas and his “Rose Queen”, Sydney Lucas his special caregivers. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Vernia Lucas, his wife, Sammie Lucas, one son, Steve Lucas and two brothers. Funeral services will be held, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will take place at Tribby Cemetery, Tribby, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Dallas Danielson, Terry Lucas, Ryan Martin, Kelly Joplin, Guy Reid and Timmy Potter.
