Doyle Hughes, 77 year old lifelong Asher, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 5, 1941 at his home in Macomb, Oklahoma to parents Mabel Leoma (Waldrup) Hughes and Wilbur Alberta "W.A." Hughes. Doyle attended Macomb Public Schools. He went on to work in the Oklahoma oil fields. Doyle had worked for Rink Thompson Oil Service, Mike and Sue Goodnight at Saint Louis Well Service where he was a pulling unit operator. He also worked for Oklahoma Sooner Tools. Doyle loved to hunt and he also loved collecting things that he thought could be used in some way, or it was worth something. The thing he loved the most was his family. Doyle loved them with everything he had. On October 3, 1981 Doyle married LaWanda Lorene “Wanda” (Marsh) Hughes in Asher, Oklahoma. Doyle leaves to cherish his memories his wife of almost 38 years, Wanda Hughes of the home in Asher, Oklahoma; three sons, Richard Lynn Hughes of Asher, Oklahoma, Doyle Wayne Hughes and his wife Missi of Asher, Oklahoma, Michael Ray Hughes of Asher, Oklahoma; three daughters, Tina Linda Gift of Perryton, Texas, Lori Dawn Pickard and her husband Shawn of Delaware, April DeLynn Hughes of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Larry Hughes and his wife Carolyn of California, Missouri, George Hughes and his wife Nancy of Asher, Oklahoma; three sisters, Remona Bourne and her husband W.A. of Durant, Oklahoma, Juanita Bourne and her husband Don of Durant, Oklahoma, Anita Ray of Roff, Oklahoma; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and dear friends. Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, Mable Leoma (Waldrup) Hughes and Wilbur Alberta "W.A." Hughes. Doyle was also preceded in death by one sister, Lila Stanfield. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Asher, Oklahoma. Interment of Doyle’s cremains will follow at Macomb Cemetery. Hugh Dean Megee will officiate the service. Cremation services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
