Douglas Lavoyd Isaacs

Douglas Lavoyd Isaacs, age 68 and a life-long resident of Konawa, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home. A wake service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13th at Grace Community Church in Vamoosa.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14th at Grace Community Church under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Konawa.  Rev. Drew Isaacs will officiate and Rev. Ed George will assist.  Burial will follow at Maxwell Cemetery located in Oil Center, Oklahoma.  Pallbearers are Dennis Isaacs, Russell Bolen, Mark Stoup, Bill Freeman, Randy Heard, and John Boy Starns.  Honorary pallbearers are Harvey Green, Toby Aldridge, Carl Capps, Bob Harrison, and R.C. Norman. Douglas was born on May 8, 1943 in Konawa to Ida Belle (Brecheen) Isaacs and Jesse Isaacs.  He worked as a drilling superintendent in the oilfield industry, and a cattle rancher.  Doug loved hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling on the river with his friends. He is survived by one son, Douglas A. Isaacs of Konawa; three daughters, Michele A. Isaacs of Tecumseh, Felecia K. Freeman of Tecumseh, and Jessi K. Isaacs of Konawa; two brothers, Vernon R. Isaacs and Bill J. Isaacs, also of Konawa; five sisters, Wyoma Pairet of Indianapolis, Indiana, Audrey Coursey of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lola Roberts of Bakersfield, California, Lavada Archer of Pheonix, Arizona, and Geneva Rodgers of Konawa; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Belle and Jesse Isaacs; one daughter, Tina R. Isaacs, and three brothers, Beecher, Orville and Raymond Isaacs.
