“Doug” Raymond Douglas Walker age 74 and a resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Konawa. Burial will follow at Konawa Cemetery, and Earl Hood will officiate. Pallbearers are Josh Walker, Joey Walker, Casey Sherman, Eric Dye, Bryan Dye, and David Willis. Honorary Pallbearers are Max Dye, David French, Steve Kinsey, and Mike Jones. Doug was born on October 26, 1940 in Konawa to George Raymond Walker and Myrtle Mae (Berry) Walker. He graduated from Konawa High School and attended Oklahoma State University. He married Cecelia Kathryn Zwiacher on December 24, 1957 in Durant, Oklahoma. Doug was a construction project manager and a former Lions Club member and a former Mayor of Konawa. He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, writing, and being with his family. He wrote an autobiography entitled, “River Rat”. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cecelia Walker of the home; four sons, David and Terese Walker of Ivahoe, Texas, Daniel and Angela Walker of Bethel, Alaska, Darrin and Amy Walker of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Doyle and Angela Walker of Ada, Oklahoma; one daughter, Cylene and David Willis of Stillwater, Oklahoma; two sisters, Virginia Hickey of Virginia, and Shirley Shirley of Ada, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Josh Walker, Joey Walker, Christen Walker, Kimber Walker, Webley Walker, Chelsea Walker, and Cassie Sherman; one nephew, Berry Streetman; and two nieces, Elena (Shirley) Richardson and Shelley (Streetman) Sawatzky. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtle Walker; two sisters, Wilma Joe Welborn and Wilda Streetman.
