Dorthy Jean Jordan Williams, 83 year old Pottawatomie County resident completed her journey to Heaven the morning of May 17, 2017 in exactly the way she wanted to, quietly, at home, without fanfare or pain. Dorthy lived most of her life in the St. Louis and Maud Oklahoma area. She had also resided in County Line, Oklahoma and in The Chauvin, Louisiana area. Because of her faith in her Savior and God and a decision to trust Him many years ago she was able to close her eyes in this world and open them in a new world where her Savior and all of her loved ones that have gone before are gathered. She was born November 26th to Altha (Patrick) Jordan and Fain Dexter Jordan. Dorthy grew up in Saint Louis, Oklahoma where she attended Saint Louis High School. She oversaw the financial matters of both the business and home finances. She worked in Carter’s Grocery Store in Saint Louis, Oklahoma with Mark and Marge Carter. She was a fundraiser for the American Heart Association and taught Sunday School at Saint Louis First Baptist Church for many years and then Trinity Baptist Church in Maud where she was currently a member. She and her husband Dale served the Lord in many capacities including Dale serving as a Deacon with her by his side, youth programs, maintenance of the Falls Creek cabin, youth retreats, church meals, mission trips and keeping the church minister in check as needed. She did all of this with love and usually with respect as well. Dorthy was the Matriarch of her family. She loved unconditionally, was stern when she needed to be and loved with everything she had.
