Dorothy "Dottie" June (Bloxham) Harrison

Dorothy “Dottie” June Harrison, 76, Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Shawnee Care Center in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Dorothy was born on June 12, 1946 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Ruth Mae (Dobbs) Bloxham and Andrew Lloyd Bloxham. Dorothy grew up in rural Latimer County and attended High School in Latimer County.  She also lived later in life at Lake Eufaula and in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Dottie was a breast cancer survivor for 22 years.

Dorothy married Allen P. Harrison on November 5, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada, they enjoyed 29 wonderful years together.

Dorothy worked at Otasco Store and Greenlight Auto Parts in Wilburton, Oklahoma before starting her beauty Salon in Wilburton, which she owned and operated until her retirement in 1993. Dorothy enjoyed fishing for Catfish and Crappie at Eufaula Lake on their dock, she also enjoyed gardening, her family, RV,ing and cooking.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Allen P. Harrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, daughter Shawna Gray of Shawnee, Oklahoma, son and daughter-in-law: Beau and Terri Harrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, one brother Thomas L. Bloxham of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, four sisters; Barbara Bullard of Alderson, Oklahoma, Shirley Sonaggera of Wilburton, Oklahoma, Juanita Hensley of Casa Grande, Arizona and Debbie Tripp of Moore, Oklahoma, three grandchildren; Antonio Ramires, Mariah Ramires and Justin Harrison, and five great grandchildren, Jude Ramires, Josie Ramires and Cooper Harrison, Kash Harrison and Kinleigh Harrison. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Mary Buckles and Edna Bullet.

Viewing and visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday May 10, 2023 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel at 1001 North Milt Phillips Ave. in Seminole, Oklahoma, with burial following at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Gary Nickerson pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church in Shawnee will officiate at the service. Casket bearers will be Antonio Ramirez, Justin Harrison, Beau Harrison and Tre Banks.
