Dorothy Alice Williams

Dorothy Alice Williams, 76, lifelong Maud, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Anthony hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Dorothy was born on May 12, 1946, in Maud to Daniel and Betty (Harjo) Williams. Dorothy grew up in Maud and attended public school there and graduated from Maud High School in 1967. She spent most all of her life at the Williams Family Homestead in Maud, Oklahoma. Dorothy was a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.

Dorothy was a home Health provider and also work at the Community Action program for many years. “Dot”, as she was loving known as, enjoyed watching OU Sooner football, watching western shows, spending time with her family, working her Sudoka books and her most favorite was playing Bingo. Ms. Dot enjoyed supervising everyone and barking orders and she held many titles in their family. She was nurturing, supportive, independent, and assertive. Ms. Dot was a mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many, and she will be greatly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Diana Nero of Maud, Oklahoma her brother; Bennie Williams of Seminole, Oklahoma and many other family members. She was preceded in death by Daniel Williams, Betty Williams and Johnny L. Williams.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 1:30 P.M. at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with burial at the Williams Family Cemetery, near Maud, Oklahoma. Dorothy will be taken to her home in Maud on Thursday evening at 4:00 P.M. and returned to the funeral home for services Friday.

Casket bearers will be Frank Gore, Joe Davis, Tim Wolfe, Brandon Akerman, Brian Akerman, Chuddo, Williams, Tony Berryhill and Cody Williams. Honorary casket bearers will be Lindsey Bondoni, Art Cline, and Frank Williams.

Funeral service arrangements are under the care of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
