Dorothy Marie Davis

Dorothy Marie Davis After a long and wonderful life and walk with Jesus, her Lord, our mother Dorothy Marie is now and forever walking with Jesus in Heaven. Born March 11, 1923 in Guthrie, Oklahoma, she journeyed to Heaven on March 10, 2011 in Mesquite, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Johnson of Guthrie, Oklahoma, her brother, Alpheus C. Johnson of Guthrie, Oklahoma; her baby son John Leslie Davis of California; her husband of 40 years, Roy Davis of California; and her second husband for a short time, A.C. Jones of Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughter, Lajuana Knox of Seminole, Oklahoma and her son, Venton and wife Patsy Davis of Mesquite, Texas. She has eight grandchildren, Tony and wife Vicki Knox of Seminole, Oklahoma; Patrick and fiancé Sharon Davis of kingwood, Texas; Cindy (Knox) and husband Karl Krause of Bowlegs, Oklahoma; Nancy (Knox) Martinez of Miami, Florida; Timothy and wife Layla Davis of Spring, Texas; Johnny Knox of Seminole, Oklahoma; William and wife Anissa Davis of Little Elm, Texas and Sarah (Davis) and husband Joseph Demoss of Mesquite, Texas. She leaves behind twenty-two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and a special life long friend Eileen Leuschner of Virginia. She will be missed by all that knew her including her family, church family, friends, and neighbors, but all that knew her knows she is in a much better place. She will be buried in California with her husband Roy. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 18, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel to celebrate and remember her life.
