Dorothy "Dot" M. Daugherty, 84, former longtime Seminole resident, passed away, Friday, April 12, 2019 in Rogers, Arkansas where she had been living. Dorothy was born on June 12, 1934 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Charles and Leona Clark. Dorothy married John Walton Daugherty in December 7, 1964 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. They lived in Seminole, Oklahoma on their farm that they both loved. Later they moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma for their retirement years. John preceded her in death on November 18, 2011. They were happily married for 46 years. Dorothy was a beautiful woman who loved God, her husband, her home, family and friends. She played the piano in church and would sing. She loved being a wife and homemaker and was a great cook and baker. She loved her cats and was always happy and a blessing to her family. Dorothy is survived by her children; Roy and Karen Daugherty of Cortland, Ohio, Kay and Allen Ledbetter of Seminole, Oklahoma, Bob and Sandy Daugherty of Little Chute, Wisconsin, Bonnie and Tom Geyman of  Longboat Key, Florida, and John Mark Daugherty of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, one son David M. Daugherty, grandson, David Lee Daugherty and a great granddaughter, Ashley Daugherty. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, with Pastor Tim Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, east of Seminole, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Roy Daugherty, Bob Daugherty, Shane Venis, Josh Daugherty, Ronnie Brown and Tom Geyman.
