Dorothy Chupco

Dorothy Chupco, Shawnee resident, passed away at the age of 67 on December 1, 2020 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  Dorothy was born on December 11, 1952 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Louis and Juanita (Buck) Chupco.  She taught at Seminole Nation Head Start.

Dorothy always loved being around her family and especially loved the kids and babies.  She treated each one like her own.  Dorothy enjoyed reading and watching her soaps.  Visiting with family brought her many laughs and smiles.  She was a very welcoming and warm person and would never turn anyone away.  Dorothy’s doors were always open when she was needed.  She had never ending love for everyone around her.

Dorothy was survived by her husband Eddie Harjo of Wewoka, OK; five daughters, Laurie Webber of Tecumseh, OK, Cassie Jacene of Shawnee, OK, Marium Chupco of Shawnee, OK, Carly Fox of Seminole, OK and Leigh Campell of Oklahoma City, OK; two brothers, Joe Chupco of Seminole, OK and Terry Chupco of Shawnee, OK; three sisters, Shirley Proctor of Virginia, Wanda Fox of Wewoka, OK and DeAnn Pierce of Moore, OK; two grandchildren, Mayci Chupco and Kayli Chupco; two great grandchildren, Brayden Jacene and Mason Hulbutta and many other family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Juanita Chupco; daughter, Wanita “Bubba” Chupco; brothers, David Chupco and Ricky Chupco and sister, June Billie.

Casket bearers will be Anthony Johnson, Patrick Fox, Colten Cotterman, Tristan Melear, Zac Billie and Nic Billie.  Honorary casket bearers will be Joe Chupco, Quentin Chupco, Travis Long, Troy Campbell, Doug Vreeland and Lester Billie Jr.

Wake services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Wewoka Indian Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Kinney and Rev. Kevin Fox officiating.  Burial will follow at Little Quarsarty Cemetery in Cromwell, OK. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, OK.
