Doris June (Huckleberry) Yerby, 77 year-old, lifelong Seminole County resident passed from this life Saturday, April 12, 2008 at her home near Wolf, Oklahoma. She was born February 25, 1931 in Vamoosa, Oklahoma to parents E.E. Huckleberry and Dollie (Wynn) Huckleberry.rnrnDoris married J.R. Yerby on May 29, 1948 in Wolf, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1995.rnrnDoris graduated from Wolf High School and continued her education at Valley View School of Nursing at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.rnrnDoris worked as an LPN at Seminole Hospital for 10 years and then at Konawa Health Center for two years. She was also a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Seminole Church of Christ and enjoyed water aquatics, traveling and reading.rnrnSurvivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Monty and Cynthia Yerby of Maud, Oklahoma and Rick Yerby of Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnThree grandsons, Josh and his wife Carrie Yerby of Maud, Oklahoma; Matt Yerby of Maud, Oklahoma and Frank Yerby of Maud, Oklahoma.rnrnDoris is preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Huckleberry (1991) and Stepfather, Earl Huckleberry (1999) and by her husband, Jack R. Yerby (July 23, 1995).rnrnGraveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. - Wednesday - April 16, 2008 at Vamoosa Cemetery with Chris Stinnett officiating the service.rnrnCasket Bearers will be: Josh Yerby, Matt Yerby, Howard Owens, Frank Yerby, Monty Yerby, Rick Yerby and Frank Greene.rnrnHonorary Bearers will be: Richard Aultz, Rocky Pruitt, Cody Collins and Pat Greene.rnrnServices are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home - Seminole, Oklahoma.
