Doris Winnona West, 85, of Paden, Oklahoma died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. West was born March 8, 1926 south of Paden, in Okfuskee County in Oklahoma. Her parents were Charlie and Myrtle (Freeze) Dawson. Mrs. West was a member of the First Baptist Church in Paden, Oklahoma. She retired from A T & T in 1987 where she was an Electronic Engineer. She was a longtime member of the Pioneers Association with A T & T. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. Doris was married to Gordon Roy West in October 23, 1942 in Wewoka, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2006. A daughter Donna Mason of Paden, Oklahoma, survives her. Two brothers George Dawson of Phoenix, Arizona and Bert Dawson of Midwest City, Oklahoma and a sister Margie Harris of Prague, Oklahoma, also survive her. Six Grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren also survive her. Her parents and her husband, one son Phillip Roy West, a sister Bernice Norton and three brothers Jim, Cecil and Vern Dawson, preceded her in death. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma. Brother Ron Baldridge will officiate the services. Burial will take place at Paden Cemetery in Paden, Oklahoma. Casket bearers will be Chris Fiegener, Cheyenne Harris, Dennis Wishon, Lee Norton and Jim Ed Cook.
