Former longtime Seminole resident Doris Dyck passed away on March 14, 2010 in El Reno, Oklahoma at the age of 90. She was born on March 25, 1919 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to James Howard and Rachel (Dillon) McKinnon. She married Max Herbert Dyck, Jr. on April 6, 1946 in Seminole, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on June 26, 1993. She attended Prague and Chandler schools and graduated from Chandler High School. During World War II both her and her husband worked at Tinker Air Force Base where they met. She attended Technology Institute in Chicago where she learned to make parts for airplanes. Later she worked as a nurse’s aide for Seminole Hospital and Shawnee Medical Center, where she worked in the nursery for over 15 years before she retired. She loved spending time with her family and being a homemaker, she also enjoyed making dresses for her daughters. She was a member of the St. Marks Episcopal Church where she was active in the alter guild and Women’s Church groups She is survived by her son Max Dyck III., of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Robby Trammell of Edmond, Oklahoma and Doris Ann and Richard Strife of East Lansing, Michigan, two sisters; Serena Powell of Norman and Maureen Edmon of Moore, Oklahoma. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Joseph and Annie Strife, Christopher, Matthew and Jonathan Trammell and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Rachel McKinnon, husband, Max Dyck, sister, Viola Deason and two brother: Howard and James McKinnon. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Little Cemetery. Funeral Information: March 18, 2010, 2:00 PM
