Longtime Seminole resident Dorene Andrews passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the age of 44. She was born January 22, 1963 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Theodore ?Ted? Wayne and Lena (Rains) Maxwell. rnrnDorene attended Harmony School for eight years where she played basketball. She also attended Atoka High School for one year. She later went on to receive her G.E.D. from Seminole Junior College.rnrnDorene was co-owner of Tower Machine and once owned the restaurant Dorene?s at Granny Ferns in Seminole. She loved to travel to tropical destinations; some of her favorite places include Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Jamaica and Key West Florida where she was planning to visit again soon. She also loved visiting New York and Las Vegas, were she had been many times. Dorene enjoyed photography, shopping, tanning, and loved gambling. She loved attending concerts; some of her favorite artists were George Strait, Rod Stewart, Gary Allen and Big & Rich. She had a love for animals, especially her dog Tabitha and her cat Mary Jane. She was known for making the best chicken strips, French fries and homemade gravy ever. She was a beloved wife and an amazing mother who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.rnrnShe married Jerry Lawrence Andrews on May 26, 1982 in Woodward, Oklahoma. She is survived by her mother, Lena Maxwell of Atoka, Oklahoma, her husband Jerry Andrews of the home, two sons; Jason Smithart of Seminole, Oklahoma, and Jesse Dale Andrews of Norman, Oklahoma, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Charles and Shay Maxwell of Seminole, Teddy and Crystal Maxwell of Seminole, and two sisters and brother-in-law; Earlene and Jack Fomby of Atoka, Oklahoma and Charlene Gwinn of Louisiana and a special niece, Anita and husband Mark Zurline.rnrnShe is preceded in death by her father, Ted Maxwell.rnrnFuneral services are scheduled for Thursday, February 1, 2007 at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with Don Ramsey officiating.rnA reception will be held following the service at the Seminole Best Western Hotel Inn & Suites.rnrn Funeral Information: January 31, 2007, 1:00 AM
