Dora Bear Haney former Seminole resident passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 68. Dora was born October 29, 1944 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents, Porter Bear and Venus (Edwards) Bear. Dora graduated from Prairie Valley School, a member of Hitchitee Methodist Church where she volunteered a lot of times and a tribal member of the Seminole Nation. Before retirement she was employed at Blue Bell, in the sewing room, and manufacturing assembly line for Magnetic Peripherals Ink. Dora loved yard sales, cooking, watching cooking programs and most of all loved her children and grandchildren who she made many sacrifices for. Dora is survived by three sons; Tracy Haney, Stacy Haney and Eric Haney all of Shawnee, Oklahoma, two brothers, Porter Bear, Jr. of Seminole, Oklahoma and Ron Bear of Stillwater, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren; Jordan Haney, Taylor Haney, Taryn Haney, Jadyn Haney, Micah Haney, Raley Haney, Colton Haney and Connor Haney and one great grandchild Kingston Haney. Dora was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Vincent Haney, and by Nora Lefthand, Thomas Bear, Johnson Bear, Pawnee Bear and Wiley Bear. Dora will be taken to the church 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 for a wake service that night at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Hitchitee Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Deer officiating. Burial will take place at Little Cemetery, Little, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Jordan Haney, Colton Haney, Connor Haney, Roman Bear, Sean Lefthand and Ryan Bear. Honorary bearers are Mike Bear, Jake Thorpe, Zane Thorpe and Gerald Williams.
