"Donnie" Donald Vernon Gregg

July 25, 1958 — May 9, 2013

“Donnie” Donald Vernon Gregg, age 54 and a former resident of Seminole County, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Lindsay Municipal Hospital in Lindsay, Oklahoma.  A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Wanette Cemetery Chapel in Wanette, Oklahoma under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Konawa, Oklahoma.  Jerrod Gregg will officiate. Donnie was born on July 25, 1958 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jay Vee and Bertha (Wilson) Gregg.  He attended school at Asher and Wanette Public Schools.  He loved to fish and was known to catch some whoppers.  (He was also known to tell a few whoppers).  He also loved playing the guitar and was very gifted at it.  Many people didn’t know it, but Donnie loved cats.  His favorites were “Tom-Tom” and “Blacky” who were a couple of strays that he took in. Donnie is survived by father, Jay Vee Gregg of Maud, Oklahoma; one son, Joshua Don Gregg of Shawnee, Oklahoma; four brothers, Bobby Gregg of Shawnee, Jerry Gregg and wife, Linda of Wanette, Larry Gregg and wife, Cheryl of Oklahoma City, and Keith “Bubba” Gregg and wife, Sara of Maud; two sisters, Rose Gregg of Maud, and Christean Gregg, also of Maud; three grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bertha and one sister, Betty Ann Gregg.
