Donna Mae Massey Stealey, 89 Donna Mae Massey Stealey was born October 11, 1927 in Davis, Oklahoma. At age two weeks, she lost her mother to blood poisoning during childbirth and was taken in and raised by her grandmother, Agnes Elizabeth Coburn Massey and aunt, Idelia Camelia Massey Swindell. Donna passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 89. She married Paul John Stealey on August 17, 1947 in Sherman, Texas and began their married life in McAlester, Oklahoma where Paul was employed by Seven-Up Bottling Company. In 1951 they moved to Salem, Illinois and Donna began her working life as Supervisor for Forrest City Manufacturing Company where she managed five plants. In 1959, opportunity called in Bowlegs, Oklahoma where Paul took over S&S Tank Truck Services. Donna was employed at Blue Bell Plant as a supervisor over the sewing department and later worked for Lillian Russell and then Michael Casuals. After selling S&S Tank Truck in 1972, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas where Donna began working for Cash America International as a manager and became a certified Gemologist for the Gemological Institute of America and rising to Vice President of Jewelry and Precious Metals Division until she retired in 1994, moving back to Seminole, Oklahoma. Sadly Paul passed away on February 20, 2009 after 62 years of marriage. Donna was very active in the Assembly of God Church and served as pianist for many years. She and Paul were very active in the PTA in Bowlegs and Salem during the years that sons, Raymond Jerry and Larry Dean Stealey were growing up. She and Paul were also active in the Loyal Order of the Moose, where she served in many positions from 1976 through 1993, as Treasure, Recorder, Star Recorder and Junior Regent until obtaining the highest degree of Collegian and Grand Regent in 1993 before retiring to Oklahoma. Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies, cooking, sewing and quilting. She made a personalized quilt for each of her four granddaughters and two grandsons. Donna loved genealogy and spent many years researching both the Stealey and Massey sides of family and presented each grandchild with a copy several years ago. She is remembered as being an excellent cook and always hosted family dinners, usually at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas at her house, where she and her two daughters-in-law would cook incredible meals. Her church and community service included setting up a food pantry for low income families, leading youth groups, Vacation Bible Schools, teaching Sunday School, and working many years as a fundraiser for Mooseheart, an orphanage run by the Loyal Order of the Moose. Donna is preceded in death by her mother, Dona Mae Massey Harvey; father, Charles Austin Harvey; grandmother, Agnes Elizabeth Coburn Massey; her husband, Paul John Stealey; two sons, Raymond Jerry Stealey and Larry Dean Stealey; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Louise Mahoney Stealey. Donna is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Harper Stealey Reavis; two grandsons, Steven Jerry Stealey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Brian Dean Stealey and his wife Kim of San Angelo, Texas; four granddaughters, Beverly Ann Stealey Deane and her husband, Matt L. Deane of Rogers, Arkansas, Amy Rae Stealey Swift and her husband, Randell Swift of Norman, Oklahoma, Lisa Lynette Stealey Tetreault and her husband David Tetreault of Austin, Texas, Paula Jean Stealey Weaver and her husband Jim Weaver of Austin, Texas. Donna is also survived by eight great granddaughters, Ashley, Patty, Jolene and Jamie (children of Paula and Jim Weaver), Lauren (daughter of Lisa and David Tetreault), Christine Hamby and Kimberli Swift (daughters of Amy Swift). She is survived by six great grandsons, Garrett and Jake (sons of Lisa and David Tetreault), Luke ( son of Brian Stealey), Sam Cox (son of Amy Swift) and his wife, Autumn, as well as Devan Cox and Timothy Swift (sons of Amy Swift). She is also survived by three great great grandchildren, Blake and Boyd Austine (children of Steve and Christine Hamby) and Abigail Grace (daughter of Timothy Swift). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Swearingen Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Beggs Cemetery, Beggs, Oklahoma. Serving as casket bearers are: Steven Stealey, David Tetreault, Garrett Tetreault, Jacob Tetreault, James Weaver and Randell Swift. Honorary bearers are Brian Stealey, Luke Stealey, John Harper, Jerry Harper, Randy Ritter and Thomas Reavis. Funeral services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home of Seminole, Oklahoma.
